Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Relations: Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring customers receive a high-quality experience.
  • Commercial and Business Acumen: Identify opportunities for increased business, stay aware of competition, and support new initiatives.
  • Leadership and Taking Responsibility: Manage the day-to-day running of the store, lead by example, and use authority when necessary.
  • Legislation: Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including health and safety, licensing, and trading standards.
  • Organisation and Planning: Plan, prioritise, and organise work to optimise resources and meet deadlines.
  • Maximising Resources: Operate the store within agreed targets and budgets.
  • Quality Emphasis: Maintain high store and personal standards, with excellent merchandising skills.
  • Motivating Others: Encourage team effort, build cohesion, and maintain motivation.
  • Staff Training and Development: Understand and deliver training needs, gain willing cooperation, and provide regular feedback.
  • Effective Administration: Accurately adhere to company administration systems, adopt a systematic approach, and check standards of accuracy.
  • Problem Solving: Anticipate and identify problems, use analytical skills, and propose solutions.

Requirements:

  • Essential: Good standard of education, 1 year supervisory or management experience, and commitment to completing WSET Level 3 Award in Wines and Spirits.
  • Desirable: WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification, and interest in wine.
