Job Title: Acoustic Support Worker

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Acoustic Support Worker to join our team at UKCIL Ltd. As an Acoustic Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting a young woman with a learning disability to access social activities and continue developing her independence skills.

Job Purpose:

The primary objective of this role is to provide support and assistance to the individual in their daily life, enabling them to live independently and participate in social activities. This will involve accompanying the individual to various events, supporting them with their personal care, and helping them to develop their independence skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the individual to access meaningful volunteering/employment opportunities to develop their employability and work experience.
  • Establish clear boundaries and a supportive relationship with the individual, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Assist the individual in identifying and accessing social activities and events of interest, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Help the individual to develop their independence skills, such as cooking, domestic chores, and personal care.
  • Provide overnight support to the individual in their own home, assisting with their bedtime and morning routine, and providing support during the night if required.
  • Assist with general household tasks, such as feeding the dogs and letting them out into the garden.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required to support the individual's needs.
Person Specification:

We are looking for an individual who is:

  • A car owner/driver with appropriate business use insurance.
  • Able to understand when to step forward and when to step back to enable the individual to develop their independence.
  • Similar in interests to the individual, with a willingness to participate in activities appropriate to a 28-year-old woman.
  • Happy to work around dogs and cats.
Terms and Conditions:
  • The rate of pay for this position is £15 per hour and £55 per sleep-in night (10pm-8am).
  • You will be reimbursed for any agreed expenses incurred as part of the role, including mileage at 45p per mile.
  • Hours and times of work: 4 hours minimum on a Tuesday, with some other days and overnights available.
  • The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work you would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
