Job Title: Acoustic Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Acoustic Support Specialist to join our team at UKCIL Ltd. As an Acoustic Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting a young woman with a learning disability to access social activities and continue developing her independence skills.

Job Purpose:

The primary objective of this role is to provide support and assistance to the young woman in her daily life, enabling her to participate in social activities, develop her independence skills, and maintain a safe and healthy lifestyle.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the young woman to access meaningful volunteering/employment opportunities to develop her employability and work experience.
  • Establish clear boundaries and a supportive relationship with the young woman, promoting her independence and autonomy.
  • Assist the young woman in identifying and accessing social activities and events of interest, ensuring her safety and well-being at all times.
  • Help the young woman develop her independence skills for adult life, including cooking, domestic chores, and personal care.
  • Ensure the young woman's safety and well-being when out and about in the community, handling money, and interacting with strangers.
  • Prompt the young woman to attend to her personal care needs and provide overnight support in her own home.
  • Perform general support tasks around the home, including feeding and caring for pets.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as required to support the young woman's needs.
Person Specification:

We are looking for a highly motivated and compassionate individual with the following skills and qualities:

  • Car owner/driver with appropriate business use insurance.
  • Ability to understand when to step forward and when to step back to enable the young woman to develop her independence.
  • Similar interests and a willingness to participate in activities suitable for a 28-year-old woman.
  • Happy to work around dogs and cats.
Terms and Conditions:
  • The rate of pay for this position is £15 per hour and £55 per sleep-in night (10pm-8am).
  • Reimbursement for agreed expenses incurred as part of the role, including mileage at 45p per mile.
  • Hours and times of work: 4 hours minimum on a Tuesday, with some other days and overnights available.
  • Annual holiday entitlement equivalent to 5.6 consecutive weeks.
Requirements:
  • Satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, covered by the employer.
  • Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
  • Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
