Special Education Support Assistant

Exclusive Education is seeking a dedicated Special Education Support Assistant to join their team in the North West region. This full-time position will involve working with pupils from Key Stage 2 through to Key Stage 4, supporting individuals with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.
Job DescriptionThis role requires an individual with previous teaching assistant experience, particularly in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. A relevant teaching assistant qualification is desirable, but not essential. The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of the curriculum and assessment frameworks, as well as experience working with students who require additional support.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing academic and pastoral support to students with Special Educational Needs
- Assisting teachers with lesson planning and delivery
- Maintaining accurate records of student progress and behavior
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a relevant teaching assistant qualification (e.g., NCFE, CACHE, or NVQ Level 1, 2, or 3)
- Have eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident
- Have previous experience working with children within the last 2 years
- Excellent knowledge of the full curriculum and assessment frameworks
- Previous experience working with students with Special Educational Needs
- Two references working with children
- Hold a current DBS that is registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one
