Bridge Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically strong Bridge Engineer to join our dynamic and developing Design Teams at Hampshire County Council.

As a forward-thinking in-house business unit, our Structures Design Teams offer a range of services to the County Council and other public authorities. This role will involve project management and design of a wide variety of bridge replacement, strengthening, and maintenance schemes, as well as the inspection and assessment of current bridges and other highway structures.

A good understanding of relevant design standards (Eurocodes), construction methods, and contract procedures is essential. Recent projects have included the design of a new integral two-span continuous steel composite deck bridge and a £25M refurbishment scheme of four major structures spanning over River Test and Network Rail tracks.

Future work will include multi-million railway footbridge replacement and strengthening of a 27-span concrete bridge. We also provide technical support to external clients, developers, contractors, and other local authorities.
