Job Title: Bridge Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically strong Bridge Engineer to join our dynamic and developing Design Teams at Hampshire County Council.

About the Role:

As a Bridge Engineer, you will be responsible for project management and design of a wide variety of bridge replacement, strengthening, and maintenance schemes, as well as the inspection and assessment of current bridges and other highway structures.

You will work closely with our Structures Design Teams to deliver challenging bridge design and maintenance schemes, and provide technical support to external clients, developers, contractors, and other local authorities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and project manage bridge replacement, strengthening, and maintenance schemes
  • Inspect and assess current bridges and other highway structures
  • Provide technical support to external clients, developers, contractors, and other local authorities
  • Work collaboratively with the Structures Design Teams to deliver projects
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A good understanding of relevant design standards (Eurocodes), construction methods, and contract procedures
  • Excellent technical skills and knowledge of bridge design and maintenance
  • Strong communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
