We are seeking an experienced and skilled Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist to join our team at the Devon Partnership NHS Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical teams, and contributing to the development of our forensic psychiatric services.

Your Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and forward-thinking consultant psychiatrist to take on a leadership role in our low secure rehabilitation unit, Chichester House. As part of this role, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team, provide forensic psychiatric liaison and assessment, and contribute to operational management meetings.
Main Responsibilities
- Clinical Leadership: Lead and coordinate care for patients with complex mental health needs and a history of violence.
- Forensic Assessment**: Provide forensic psychiatric liaison and assessment for Devon and Cornwall residents in high secure hospitals, prisons, local psychiatric units, and independent facilities.
- Teaching and Supervision**: Supervise ward doctors, core trainees, and higher trainees, and provide opportunities for teaching, research, and quality improvement.
Requirements
- Experience**: Prior experience working in an inpatient mental health team, with a focus on forensic psychiatry.
- Qualifications**: Full registration with the General Medical Council, eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT at time of interview.
- Skills**: Strong clinical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to continuing professional development.
Salary Information
The salary for this role is approximately £105,504 per annum, reflecting the trust's commitment to attracting and retaining high-calibre staff.
