Clinical Radiotherapy Physics Specialist

About the Role
Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Scientist to join our Radiotherapy Physics team. As a Clinical Scientist, you will play a vital role in providing expert medical physics support to the provision of radiotherapy within the Trust.
Main Responsibilities
* Provide expert medical physics advice and support to clinical oncologists on technology and treatment
* Develop and implement new radiotherapy techniques and methods
* Supervise and train other staff members in radiotherapy physics
* Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities
* Liaise with equipment manufacturers and suppliers to ensure optimal equipment performance
* Contribute to the development and evaluation of new radiotherapy equipment and software
* Maintain accurate records and reports of radiotherapy treatments and outcomes
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve radiotherapy services and patient care
* Stay up-to-date with the latest technical and scientific developments in radiotherapy physics
* Participate in continuing professional development to maintain expertise and stay current with best practices
Requirements
* MSc or equivalent in radiotherapy physics or a related field
* HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist
* Advanced experience in radiotherapy physics, including one or more of: radiotherapy technology, external beam treatment planning, radiotherapy imaging, brachytherapy physics, and Gamma Knife
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work flexibly and manage multiple priorities
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques
