Housing Needs Coordinator - London

We are seeking a skilled Housing Needs Coordinator to join our team in London. This role involves working closely with clients and applicants to provide advice and assistance on homelessness prevention.

About the Role

This position reports directly to the Head of Accommodation and requires exceptional customer care skills, delivered through a compassionate and empathetic approach. The successful candidate will work with clients and applicants to provide advice and assistance on homelessness prevention.

  • Experience in providing advice and assistance on homelessness and prevention is essential.
  • Able to encourage and support service-users to seek professional and medical help when necessary.
  • Familiarity with housing duty investigations and applications, as well as legal aspects of homelessness, including Part VII Housing Act 1996 and Section 202 reviews.
  • Ability to work effectively with various stakeholders, such as partner organisations, local authorities, and landlords.
Key Responsibilities

The Housing Needs Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Assessing client needs and developing personalized plans to prevent homelessness.
  • Providing guidance and support to clients on accessing suitable alternative provision.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective case management.
  • Conducting housing duty investigations and making decisions in accordance with Part VII Housing Act 1996.
  • Managing the process of evictions and understanding the support available for those in financial crisis.

We are offering a competitive salary of £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:
