About the Role
CV-Library is seeking an experienced School Librarian / Library Manager to join our prestigious Sixth Form in Newham. This permanent position comes with a competitive salary of £36,000 per annum and a part-time contract of 200 days per year.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the library remains at the heart of school life, driving reading progress and fostering a culture of reading across the school and community. As a lifelong love of reading is essential for pupils, this role is crucial in developing a strong curriculum foundation.

You will oversee a small team responsible for supporting students with their studies, maintaining and enhancing the school's collection of over 7,000 books, and identifying and acquiring high-quality resources to meet National Curriculum requirements.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be an excellent team player, and have a willingness to go above and beyond. If you are passionate about education and have previous experience in a similar role or transferable skills, we would like to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Establish a welcoming library environment for Sixth Form students.
  2. Maintain and enhance the school's collection of over 7,000 books.
  3. Identify and acquire high-quality resources to meet National Curriculum requirements.
  4. Teach pupils how to navigate the library and select suitable reading materials.
  5. Promote reading enjoyment and excitement among pupils.
  6. Provide a supportive climate for pupils to develop as learners.
  7. Support students with additional learning needs outside of class hours.
  8. Develop and implement targeted reading interventions.
