Lead School Librarian

We are seeking a highly skilled Librarian and Resource Specialist to join our team at a popular Sixth Form in Newham. The role offers a competitive salary of £35,000-£36,000 depending on experience, working 200 days of the calendar year with a 36 hour working week.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a small team of staff who will be supervising and supporting students with their studies. They will also be responsible for promoting reading and literacy skills among students, developing a culture of reading across the school and community.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a range of initiatives to promote reading and literacy skills among students.
  • Work closely with teachers and senior leaders to ensure that the library is integrated into the curriculum.
  • Manage the school's library collection, including purchasing new books and resources.
  • Support pupils with their learning, providing additional help and guidance as needed.
