About the Role

The Buckinghamshire Council is seeking a skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our team. As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality speech and language therapy services to children and young people with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized speech and language therapy plans to meet the needs of pupils with complex communication needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to integrate speech and language therapy recommendations into daily classroom practice.
  • Deliver training for staff and parents on a range of topics related to speech and language therapy.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss pupil progress and develop strategies for supporting pupils with complex needs.

Requirements

  • Registration with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience working with children and young people with complex communication needs.
  • Knowledge of the SCERTS framework and Total Communication Approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals to support pupil progress.
