About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care to patients with speech, language, and swallowing difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide speech and language therapy to inpatients, working independently to assess, treat, and manage patients with speech, language, and swallowing difficulties.
  • Work collaboratively with the Acute SLT team to develop service initiatives and organisational objectives.
  • Develop and maintain postgraduate competencies in dysphagia and communication management.
  • Support junior staff and contribute to the development of student placements as a clinical educator.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary working, providing advice, guidance, and information to health and social care professionals, patients, carers, and others.
Requirements
  • Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree or Equivalent.
  • Health and Care Professions Council Licence to Practice.
  • Completion of accredited postgraduate dysphagia qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working with adult clients with acute onset of speech and swallowing difficulties.
  • Knowledge of specialist SLT assessment and therapy tools relevant to the client group.
