About the Role

The Buckinghamshire Council is seeking a skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our team. As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality speech and language therapy services to children and young people with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and develop individualized speech and language therapy plans for pupils with complex needs
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to integrate speech and language therapy recommendations into daily classroom practice
  • Deliver training for staff and parents on a range of topics, including Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and Paediatric Dysphagia
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss pupil progress and develop strategies for supporting pupils with complex needs

Requirements

  • Registration with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Qualification and experience in dysphagia, or a willingness to undertake training in this area
  • Excellent communication and interaction skills, with a high level of empathy and a passion for providing speech and language therapy for children and young people with complex needs
