Band 6 Occupational Therapist for Mental Health in Correctional Facilities

Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to fill a Band 6 position in our correctional facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality occupational therapy services to offenders with complex mental health needs.
- Participate in the development and implementation of health promotion programs and activities.
- Contribute to the risk assessment and management plans for service users.
- Manage a caseload of offenders with complex mental health needs.
- Assess and provide equipment to enhance independence in daily living skills for offenders with a physical disability.
- Apply increasingly complex skills and knowledge to establish professional competence and fitness to practice as a Band 6 OT.
- Extensive experience as an Occupational Therapist, including mental health experience.
- Ability to establish rapport with difficult-to-engage offenders and carers.
- Effective written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills.
- Post-registration experience in a relevant clinical setting.
- Ability to engage in physical activity groups and community visits.
