About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Co-production Officer to join our team at Essex County Council. As a Co-production Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the development of co-production approaches across our Adult Mental Health Services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with individuals who use services, experts by experience, and their families and carers to support existing user-led groups and develop new peer support user-led groups.
  • Collaborate with internal and external colleagues to develop a joint co-production approach.
  • Facilitate the development of locality networks through engagement with local social care and health commissioners, voluntary sector, and third sector providers.
  • Champion the voice of those using services and use feedback and suggestions to advise Mental Health Commissioners.
  • Develop, implement, and manage a plan around co-production that aligns with our mental health commissioning programme.
  • Collate information and prepare high-quality reports.
  • Take the lead for co-production within the Mental Health team, driving our approach to co-production and service user involvement/consultation.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications, such as RFQ level 2 (GCSEs) or equivalent by experience.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Excellent IT/computer skills and ability to produce reports and presentations.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience of working in Adult Social Care services.
  • Skills and experience in setting up and delivering small projects and proven organisational skills.
  • Excellent adaptable communication and influencing skills.
  • Be personable, approachable, and have good listening skills.
  • A good understanding of adult social care and the current national social care and health agenda in Mental Health.
