Adult Mental Health Services are undergoing significant transformation. We have identified that we need a whole system change to support people to manage their mental health and we have ambitious plans to enable us to achieve this. We are committed to working with and involving people with lived experience to shape and design our services.

This role will work alongside the Mental Health Commissioners to bring lived experience to the design of Mental Health services and to ensure that experience is threaded within the commissioning cycle in order to drive positive change.

**Service/Functional Accountabilities**
- Provide positive role modelling and leadership for service user involvement and representation within the design, commissioning and provision of services in Essex.

- Facilitate the development of locality networks, through engagement with local social care and health commissioners, voluntary sector, and third sector providers. This will include volunteer service networks, service-user networks, and stakeholder engagement.
- Champion the voice of those using services. You will use insight from those using services to advise the Mental Health Transformation Board, and will consult with stakeholders, commissioners, operational managers and clinicians throughout Essex to ensure that this voice is considered in all that we do.
- Develop, implement and manage a plan around co-production which effectively aligns to our mental health commissioning programme.
- Take lead for co-production within the Mental Health team, driving our approach to co-production and service user involvement/consultation, making recommendations to commissioning managers and the mental health transformation board and working autonomously to explore and consider ways in which we can further improve our co-production plans.
