Store Operations Manager

As a Store Operations Manager at Chelmsford Star Co-op, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of our store in an efficient and effective manner. Your goal will be to maximize store profitability while adhering to the company's policies and rules.
Key Responsibilities:- Stock Management: Maintain optimal stock levels to meet customer demand, utilizing effective stock and order procedures to maximize sales within agreed targets.
- Visual Merchandising: Implement and maintain store displays in accordance with company planograms and promotional programs, ensuring merchandise is well-presented and promotional materials are effectively displayed.
- Loss Prevention: Minimize stock losses through effective in-store stock controls, recording and reporting all known losses in a timely manner.
- Inventory Control: Conduct regular stock-takes to monitor stock levels and losses, identifying areas for improvement.
- Store Security: Maintain the security of the store, its contents, and staff in accordance with the Food Store Policy & Procedures Manual.
- Cash and Banking: Implement effective cash, banking, and till controls to minimize cash on hand and maximize cash banked.
- Store Maintenance: Ensure the store is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation, identifying and communicating any remedial maintenance work required.
- Staff Management: Participate in the recruitment and selection of store supervisors and general assistants, ensuring adherence to company procedures.
- Training and Development: Undertake effective induction processes for new staff, ensuring they are trained to an acceptable level in all in-store procedures.
- Customer Service: Ensure all store staff provide excellent customer service, meeting the needs of customers and promoting a positive store experience.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all legal requirements, including Health & Safety Practices, Fire Precautions, Food Hygiene Controls, and licensing laws.
- Financial Management: Operate the store within agreed budgetary cost constraints, meeting levels of budgetary turnover and profitability.
