Midwife for Vulnerable Women

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate midwife to join our team at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a midwife for vulnerable women, you will provide high-quality care to women who require additional support and guidance throughout their pregnancy, childbirth, and postnatal journey.
Main Responsibilities- Provide antenatal and postnatal care to vulnerable women, including those with complex needs and safeguarding issues.
- Develop and maintain effective communication with women, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care.
- Contribute to the development of services and quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternity care for vulnerable women.
- Support student midwives and junior staff in their professional development, while also receiving guidance and mentorship from senior midwives.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to promote best practice in health, safety, and security.
- Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the planning and organization of work.
- Ensure the efficient use of physical and financial resources, while maintaining accurate and legible client notes.
- Registered Midwife (NMC) with 2 years of experience as a practicing midwife.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with women, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of clinical governance, public health, and safeguarding principles, with a working understanding of child protection, domestic violence, substance misuse, and mental health.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to quality and patient-centered care.
- Computer literate and able to use electronic patient records and other healthcare systems.
