Educational Assistant for SEND Students

This is a teaching support role working with children and young people aged 2-19 in a SEND school with an 'Outstanding' rating. The position involves supporting the class teacher and working as part of an established team on a full-time basis.
The RoleIn this role, you will assist pupils who have various special educational needs, including Autism (ASC), Complex Learning Difficulties and Disabilities, Speech and Language Communication, Physical Disabilities, Sensory Regulation, Visual or Auditory Sensory Impairment or Social Emotional and Mental Health. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting teaching and learning in a small class sized setting
- Leading small group and 1:1 interventions to meet individual pupil needs
- Assisting pupils with personal care and behaviour management
You will also be responsible for liaising with staff and parents, and participating in weekly CPD sessions. This is an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students with special educational needs.
RequirementsTo be considered for this role, you will need:
- Experience of working with primary or secondary school aged children
- Experience of working with pupils who have special educational needs
- A passion for the progress of SEND school pupils
- An ability to work as part of a team
This role offers a competitive daily rate of £85 per week, paid using the PAYE system, depending on experience and qualifications. You will also benefit from social and networking events, pension contributions, and CPD opportunities to help with your professional development.
