SEND Education Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Education Specialist to join our specialist provision in the UK.
About the Position:This role involves working with a small class of students who have profound and multiple learning difficulties, severe learning disabilities, sensory impairments, and medical conditions. The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to SEND education and an understanding of complex communication needs.
Main Responsibilities:- Developing Individualised Lesson Plans: Create tailored lesson plans that cater to each student's unique needs and abilities.
- Sensory Support Strategies: Employ strategies to support students with sensory impairments and severe learning difficulties, ensuring their comfort and engagement in the learning process.
- Behaviour Management and Classroom Environment: Effectively manage challenging behaviours and maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social and emotional well-being.
- Collaboration with Support Staff: Work closely with support staff and specialists to provide individualized educational support and ensure a cohesive approach to meeting student needs.
- Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly monitor and report on student progress, adapting teaching methods to help each child achieve their potential and reach their full academic and personal growth.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience working with children who have severe or profound learning difficulties (preferred but not essential)
- Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, and other communication systems (training available)
- A patient, compassionate, and positive teaching approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Guaranteed Salary: £34,513 - £51,242 per annum
