Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry

About the Role
We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Adult Community division, specifically the Spalding and Boston Community Mental Health Teams. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for assessing new referrals, attending formulation meetings, and providing medical reviews of patients. You will also be involved in home visits, multidisciplinary case review meetings, and attending weekly team meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessment of new referrals and attending their formulation meetings.
- Medical review of patients as agreed in multi-disciplinary meetings.
- Home visits when required.
- Attending multidisciplinary case review meetings whenever they are arranged.
- Attending weekly team meeting/leadership meetings.
- Attending management and academic meetings.
- Advice to GP's/Liaison Teams/Hospitals (occasional hospital attendance may be required).
- Preparing reports and attending mental health tribunals for patients on Community Treatment Orders.
- Reviewing and preparing reports for patients subject to Sec 37/41 of the Mental Health Act 1983.
- Assisting trust sponsored research projects.
- Supervision of nurse prescribers.
- Giving clinical advice to team members as and when needed.
- Responsibility for assessment of emergencies, including assessment under the Mental Health Act 1983 and Section 136 assessments as part of on-call rota.
- To provide cover to community consultant colleagues on a mutually agreed basis.
- Participation in on-call rota.
- To work within a multi-disciplinary team and facilitate individual care and treatment.
- To provide, on an agreed reciprocal basis medical cover in the short term absence of other colleagues.
