Medical Consultant Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Adult Community division, specifically the Spalding and Boston Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT). As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality, patient-focussed services and supporting the development of general adult psychiatry.
About the Role- Provide medical review of patients as agreed in multi-disciplinary meetings.
- Attend management and academic meetings.
- Offer advice to GP's/Liaison Teams/Hospitals (occasional hospital attendance may be required).
- Prepare reports and attend mental health tribunals for patients on Community Treatment Orders.
- Review and prepare reports for patients subject to Sec 37/41 of the Mental Health Act 1983.
- Assist trust-sponsored research projects.
- Supervise nurse prescribers.
- Be responsible for assessment of emergencies, including assessment under the Mental Health Act 1983 and Section 136 assessments as part of on-call rota.
- Provide cover to community consultant colleagues on a mutually agreed basis.
- Participate in on-call rota.
- Provide, on an agreed reciprocal basis, medical cover in the short-term absence of other colleagues.

- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- DBS clearance.
- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
- Willingness to engage with further training in general adult psychiatry.
- Clinical training and experience required for gaining UK CCT, or other alternative routes, such as CESR Fellowship.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Widespread and detailed experience of assessment and management of general adult patients.
