Job Description

Role Summary:

The External Communications and Marketing Officer will play a key role in delivering a professional and responsive service to SOAS University of London, ensuring that student number targets are met and exceeded through the recruitment of well-qualified applicants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and create written, audio, and visual content about learning, teaching, research, and other activities for a wide variety of audiences, with a particular focus on media engagement.
  • Liaise with colleagues across the School to generate new content, plan, and execute its dissemination.
  • Support the External Communications Manager to deliver a strong public profile both nationally and internationally for SOAS.
  • Support media engagement in aid of other teams' key projects and activities, such as key public events, fundraising, and alumni activities, and marketing and student recruitment goals.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate eligibility to work in the UK or have limited leave to remain in the UK and associated right to work for the duration of employment with SOAS.
  • Meet the key criteria for the role, as outlined in the Job Description and Person Specification, available on the SOAS website.

Working Arrangements:

This is a permanent position, and the successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the Marketing, Student Recruitment and Admissions team, as well as other central professional services.
