About the Role

The External Communications Manager will be responsible for developing and executing communication strategies to enhance ENGIE's public image, manage media relations, and engage with external stakeholders. This permanent role reports to the UK Head of Corporate Communications and will be based in the UK, with the possibility of working from ENGIE offices in London.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement external communication strategies that align with ENGIE's goals and objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts, respond to media inquiries, and proactively pitch stories to generate positive coverage.
  • Produce high-quality content for press releases, media kits, blog posts, social media, and other external communication channels.
  • Ensure consistency in brand messaging across all external communications and maintain the company's voice and tone.
  • Engage with various external stakeholders, including customers, partners, and the community, to foster positive relationships and enhance the company's reputation.
  • Plan and manage press conferences, media briefings, and other public events.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
  • Strong media relations experience.
  • Established media relationships.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to make complex information simple.
  • Ability to work at pace within a complex matrix environment.
  • Experience in a multinational organization.
  • Degree or formal qualification in a relevant subject.
