Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner to join our innovative Occupational Therapy Team at Ashworth Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality sensory integration assessments and treatments to service users within our High Secure forensic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the delivery of meaningful activities of daily living under the direction of a qualified Occupational Therapist
- Hold a small caseload under supervision and be responsible for the delivery of interventions
- Work collaboratively with other Occupational Therapy staff to provide individual and group activities
- Facilitate 1:1 and group sessions using the Occupational Therapy and Life Rooms model with an Ayres Sensory Integration focus
Requirements:
- Health and Social Care NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification
- Previous experience in healthcare, including assessing, planning, and implementing individualized programs of care
- Strong knowledge of Health Promotion strategies and clinical governance principles
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain confidentiality
