Job Title: Medical Secretary - Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Medical Secretary to join our team within the Head and Neck Department. As a key member of our secretarial team, you will provide administrative support to our Oral and Maxillofacial, Orthodontics and Restorative Dentistry Team. Your excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team will be essential in this role.

The ideal candidate will have proven administration experience, including typing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. You will also possess excellent customer care skills, with the ability to provide a high level of service to patients, medical staff and other stakeholders. Experience of using patient records systems and hospital databases would be advantageous.

You will assist with telephone enquiries from patients, GPs and other agencies in a courteous and helpful manner, while liaising with medical staff and other departments as necessary. We expect the candidate to have relevant experience working in a similar role, with good standard of general education to include GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent. You will also be able to type at speed of 40 words per minute (WPM) or higher.

The salary for this role is £24,071 - £25,674 per annum, based on a 37.5 hour week. As an employee of Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, you will benefit from a range of rewards and benefits, including flexible working arrangements and access to training and development opportunities.
