A Strategic Governance Lead Opportunity at British Rowing

British Rowing is looking for a highly skilled Governance Programme Manager to join our team. As a key member of our governance function, you will play a vital role in driving strategic and operational change across the organisation.

About the Job
  • This is an exciting opportunity to expand your skills and experience, contributing to the implementation of a new governance structure that will underpin the success of our organisation.
  • You will be responsible for leading the project management of a new governance framework, supporting the Governance and Integrity Lead in the implementation of new structures and processes.
Your Key Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate and track the progress of key internal working groups to deliver the changes required, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective communication across the organisation.
  2. Lead the review and drafting of British Rowing's governing documents and policies to ensure they are fit for purpose and align with relevant legal frameworks and Code for Sports Governance requirements.
  3. Assist the Governance and Integrity Lead with the recruitment of new Committee and Panel members, as well as their induction and ongoing support.
About You
  • Demonstrable effective project management experience in a governance-focused role.
  • Clear understanding of corporate governance at a senior level and the importance of quality assurance and governance in driving continuous improvement.
  • Ability to create strong project plans and an excellent working knowledge of project management frameworks.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior staff, Committee/Panel chairs and members.

Salary: £50-55k per annum (dependent on skills and experience)
