Job Description:

The Board Member will be responsible for contributing to the overall governance and strategic direction of the organisation. This will involve ensuring that the organisation complies with internal policy and legislation, monitoring the financial position, and making sure that the organisation operates within its means.



In addition to these key responsibilities, the Board Member will also be expected to:




  • Maintain the good name of the organisation;
  • Ensure the financial stability of the organisation;
  • Participate in working groups as necessary;
  • Attend seminars and networking events when required;
  • Lead discussions and provide guidance on new initiatives, particularly in areas where the member has specific skills, knowledge or expertise;
  • Maintain confidentiality about any sensitive or confidential information;
  • Regularly attend and take a full part in meetings.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have:




  • A commitment to the goals and aims of the organisation;
  • Dedication to the role and a willingness to devote the required time;
  • An understanding of the importance of carrying out required legal duties;
  • Proven strategic abilities that can be used to create effective plans;
  • Strength of character coupled with the ability to voice concerns and opinions;
  • Proven experience working as a member of successful teams;
  • Integrity and objectivity which can be applied to all aspects of the role.

Salary:

The estimated salary for this role is £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
