Job Overview

You will be part of the Transformation Unit, working within the Inclusion team to provide high-quality administrative and clerical support to the Interpreting and Translating Services. Your role will involve coordinating telephone, email, and electronic diary bookings for the NUH interpreting service, allocating freelance and volunteer interpreters to bookings based on set criteria.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to the Interpreting and Translating Services.
  • Coordinate telephone, email, and electronic diary bookings for the NUH interpreting service.
  • Allocate freelance and volunteer interpreters to bookings based on set criteria.
  • Use MS Outlook and Excel to maintain an up-to-date diary and record of interpreting bookings.
  • Monitor interpreting bookings to continually assess demand.
  • Coordinate meetings for the interpreting services manager and take minutes at department meetings if required.
  • Provide regular updates to the interpreting manager.
  • Possess excellent communication skills with a high level of written and spoken English.
Requirements
  • NVQ level 2 or equivalent qualification.
  • Computer literate – working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • A level in Business or equivalent qualification.
