Job Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated EDI Officer to join our Organisational Development team at Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service. As the EDI Officer, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering our EDI programme to promote equality, diversity, and inclusion within the Service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Manage EDI Performance Indicators: Develop and manage key performance indicators for the EDI agenda and maintain assurance against the Public Sector Equality Duty.
  • Support EDI Policy Implementation: Support the implementation and monitoring of EDI policies and practice.
  • Provide EDI Advice and Support: Provide advice and support to managers on EDI issues.
  • Facilitate Consultation Events: Facilitate consultation events with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining our links with other organisations and developing partnerships with local, regional, and national partners.
  • Promote NFRS as an Employer of Choice: Promote NFRS as an employer of choice and aid in the development of the Service's workforce diversity plan.
  • Deliver EDI Training Courses: Plan and deliver EDI training courses to the Service.

Requirements:

  • Experience in Customer-Facing Environment: Experience of working in a customer-facing environment, running projects, and providing EDI advice to colleagues and managers.
  • Equality Impact Assessments: Ability to undertake equality impact assessments and produce complex written reports.
  • EDI Policy Development: Experience developing and writing EDI policies.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communications skills which you can utilise to speak to a variety of different audiences and provide training to staff.
  • MS Office Applications: Knowledge and experience using MS Office applications.
  • Equality Act 2010: Up-to-date knowledge of the Equality Act 2010 and other related legislation.
  • Qualification: Have a degree (or other equivalent qualification or experience).
