Senior Clinical Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Practitioner Psychologist to join our dynamic team at the NHS Children and Young People's Gender Service (London). This exciting role offers a unique opportunity to work in a multi-disciplinary team, providing specialist clinical input and leadership to support the development of an evidence-based psychology service.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical psychology, with experience in working with children and young people with gender diversity. They will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and ensuring the systematic provision of a high-quality psychology service, as well as providing clinical leadership, supervision, and support to junior staff.
This role is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced psychologist to take on a leadership role and contribute to the development of a new service. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care and a passion for working with children and young people with gender diversity.
Main Responsibilities- Develop, coordinate, and ensure the systematic provision of an evidence-based psychology service to the NHS Children and Young People's Gender Service (London).
- Provide highly specialist clinical input, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children and young people with gender diversity.
- Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and support to junior staff, including assistant psychologists and trainee psychologists.
- Contribute to the development of a new service, including the design and implementation of clinical pathways and protocols.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals, including paediatricians, mental health practitioners, youth workers, nurses, speech and language therapists, and occupational therapists.
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent.
- Registered with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist.
- Experience of working with children and young people with gender diversity.
- Experience of providing clinical leadership, supervision, and support to junior staff.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
