Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Staff Nurse to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, where you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our surgical services.
About the Role:
This is a Band 6 permanent post offering flexible hours, full-time or part-time options depending on service requirements. You will work closely with doctors, ACPs, AHPs, Clinical Site Managers, and Health Care Support Workers to deliver excellent care to patients in our 23-bedded inpatient unit and Same Day Emergency Care unit.
Your Responsibilities:
Be proactive and show initiative, demonstrating excellent leadership and clinical skills to assess, investigate, and treat patientsAct as a leader and role model, adopting a flexible approach in managing clinical and managerial responsibilitiesBe Nurse In Charge of either STAU or Surgical SDEC, coordinating the care of patients, accepting referrals, and managing the nursing teamPossess excellent communication skillsExperience of acute assessment or triage is desirableActively engage in research and development opportunities for the serviceKnowledge regarding governance and its importance in promoting and maintaining a safe and quality-driven environment for patients, visitors, and staffTake immediate action and inform Sister where performance, conduct, or attendance falls short of the expected standardsWork in partnership with the management team to act as a united front and professional role model to the teamAssist with and participate in the recruitment, retention, and professional development of staffRequirements:
To be successful in this role, you will have current NMC registration, a degree in nursing or health-related subject, and experience in surgical nursing for at least 3 years. You should also possess excellent communication skills, leadership abilities, and the capacity to work under pressure.
