Job Summary

Equans UK is seeking a highly skilled Fire Maintenance Engineer to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. This role involves working on a complex shift pattern, with a competitive salary, benefits package, and opportunities for paid overtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all Health and Safety issues onsite, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Ensure all engineers on site adhere to Health and Safety Rules and work efficiently.
  • Liaise with supervisors to ensure all plant and equipment is in place.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data input into Equans' PDA system for all staff undertaking this activity.
  • Perform calibration and PAT testing of plant to ensure it is in date.
  • Identify and correct faults/issues with fire detection, suppression, and alarm equipment installed at client sites.
  • Recommend system/service improvements and/or variations from industry standards during PPM/reactive visits and supply accurate scopes of work.

Outcome, Results, and Key Performance Indicators

  • Maintain accurate and detailed information in the company's PDA/activity capture software (Movilizer).
  • Ensure all works are completed safely and in line with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, maintaining a Duty of Care to all who may be affected by the works being carried out and to Equans as the employer.
  • Maintain performance to achieve all targets set, adhering to Fleet standards to ensure Company FORS accreditation is maintained.
  • Adhere to Fleet requirements, completing daily vehicle checks and reporting defects to the main vehicle to ensure it is roadworthy.
  • Ensure the quality of work delivered is to a high standard, maximizing safety when undertaking any works and ensuring company policies are followed.

Requirements

  • Extensive work on Fire Detection, Suppression, Portable assets
  • TLL Grade 1 fire accreditation (desirable, but not essential)
  • Electrician NVQ level 2 (or proof of good electrical awareness)
  • Product training (Kentec, AEL, Gent, Notifier, Apollo, Hochiki, etc.)
  • London Underground working permits
  • Good report writing skills
  • Computer literate, able to send emails and familiar with working computer tablets and applications

DBS Basic Check

This role includes a DBS Basic check, therefore, the ability to pass is essential.
