We are partnering with a Local Authority in Tower Hamlets to support the appointment of an Assessment Officer on a 1-year contract, with potential for extension. If you're interested in this opportunity, please submit your CV for immediate consideration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide applicants with tailored guidance on the Council's lettings scheme and procedure to maximize their sustainable housing options and rehousing prospects.
  • Offer applicants assistance and support in navigating their housing applications, encouraging informed and pragmatic decisions about available housing options.
  • Assess complex and challenging cases to optimize rehousing prospects, involving collaboration with various professionals to ensure comprehensive information gathering.
  • Identify potential fraudulent applications and refer them to the Team Manager.
  • Work closely with Occupational Therapists and other Health Professionals to provide the best possible advice to those requiring accessible homes.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with colleagues, members of the public, partner agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in using various ICT systems.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills in a customer-focused environment.
  • Experience with complex casework, working with vulnerable households, and caseload management.

  • You must have the right to work in the UK.
  • This role requires a basic DBS.
