Are you passionate about supporting the education and well-being of children and young people? We have an exciting opportunity for an Education Support Assistant to join our team at Lionel School in the Western Isles.

Salary: £3,000 - £4,000 per annum (inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance)

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and patient individual to provide support for children and young people with additional support needs. The post holder will work closely with teaching staff to meet education, personal care, and welfare needs, undertake playground/lunchtime supervision, and support the inclusion of all pupils in the setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teaching staff in meeting education, personal care, and welfare needs
  • Undertake playground/lunchtime supervision
  • Support the inclusion of all pupils in the setting
  • Support health and wellbeing and follow the Getting It Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) approach

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience of working with children, either as a parent or in a voluntary or professional capacity
  • An understanding of the basic needs of children
  • The ability to co-operate with others and work effectively as a member of a team
  • A patient, cheerful personality with a flexible, open, and caring approach
