The Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages and Linguistics at the University of Cambridge invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor in Early Modern French.

The successful candidate will contribute to the teaching and examining of 17th-Century French Literature, Thought and Culture, with a focus on early modern French studies. A native or near-native command of both French and English is essential.

Key responsibilities include leading research, teaching, and outreach in early modern French studies, as well as participating in the administration of the Faculty's activities. The appointee will also have opportunities to teach and examine at postgraduate level in their field of expertise.

A PhD in a relevant field and relevant teaching experience are required. The successful candidate should demonstrate active engagement in research, teaching, and outreach in early modern French Studies.

The estimated salary for this position is around £50,000-£60,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a fixed-term appointment for 36 months or the return of the post holder, whichever is earlier.
