Postdoctoral Position in Classical Studies

Estimated Salary: CHF 60'000 - CHF 70'000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will play a key role in the SNSF-funded research project CITE, focusing on Citation, Indirect Transmission, and Exegesis in Ancient Texts. This collaborative effort involves both Basel and Cambridge.

Key Duties:

  • Undertake advanced research in Latin and Greek Literature, benefiting from expert guidance.
  • Work collaboratively with international colleagues and researchers to drive knowledge forward.
  • Evaluate and analyze intricate literary texts to provide insightful contributions.
  • Publish research results in prestigious academic journals to enhance the field's understanding.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must hold a PhD in Latin and Greek Literature or a related discipline, demonstrate exceptional analytical and communication skills, and have a high level of proficiency in English (C1 level). Familiarity with the SNSF's guidelines is also essential.
