About the Role

As a Regional HR Manager at Canonical, you will play a critical role in shaping the company's HR function as we continue to grow and expand globally. With a team of HR professionals across 70 countries, we require a leader who can think and act globally, providing precise, compliant, and scalable HR operations to the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and scale Canonical's regional HR team, providing strategic guidance and direction to ensure the delivery of high-quality HR services.
  • Develop and implement HR processes and policies that align with the company's global HR strategy, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Partner with senior leadership to advise on HR issues across the employee life cycle, from recruitment to talent development and succession planning.
  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition and Workplace Engineering teams to create seamless processes across all HR regions.
  • Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, promoting a culture of inclusivity and respect within the organization.
  • Design and deliver training programs to support the development of people managers and employees, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Establish a trusted partnership with the business, providing expert HR advice and guidance to support business objectives.
  • Present at Canonical events to articulate the company's HR practices and policies, promoting a culture of transparency and accountability.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in a relevant field, such as HR or business.
  • Proven experience in leading HR initiatives across regions within a technology business, with a strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
  • People management experience, with a track record of developing and leading high-performing teams.
  • Experience in business partnering with senior stakeholders, with a strong ability to build relationships and influence decision-making.
  • Fluent in business English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, accurate, confident, authentic, results-oriented, open-minded, enthusiastic, and energetic, with a strong ability to work in a remote-first organization.
