Job Title: Assistant Teaching Support Technician

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant Teaching Support Technician to join our team at the University of Birmingham. As a key member of our laboratory support team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our teaching laboratories.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical assistance to teaching staff and students in the laboratory
  • Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and materials
  • Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment
  • Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and resources
  • Ensure the health and safety of students and staff in the laboratory
Requirements:
  • GCSE (A*- C / 4-9 or equivalent) Mathematics, English & Science, NVQ Level 2, BTEC Level 2 or equivalent
  • Practical experience of relevant techniques/skills required for the post or previous laboratory based experience
  • Positive service attitude and shows courtesy in dealing with others
  • Ability to organize and manage own workload after consultation with supervisor and demonstrate flexibility in terms of work practices/requirements
  • Ability to work as part of a team
