Main Function / Purpose of Job:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our innovative team at IAC Group.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Laboratory Manager and reporting on key measures, performing laboratory tests to produce reliable and precise data, and carrying out routine tasks accurately.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the Laboratory Manager and report on key measures.
  • Perform laboratory tests to produce reliable and precise data.
  • Carry out routine tasks accurately and follow strict methodologies.
  • Prepare specimens and samples.
  • Dispose of chemicals and waste products safely.
  • Construct, maintain, and operate standard laboratory equipment.
  • Perform measurements using traditional measurement equipment.
  • Perform laboratory testing using various test equipment.
  • Analyze data and use statistical techniques to evaluate product and generate informative reports.
  • Record and interpret results to present to senior colleagues.
  • Prepare reports.
  • Use problem-solving techniques to assist in internal and external quality concerns.
  • Support at customer sites when required.
  • Follow and ensure strict safety procedures and safety checks.

Main Missions and Results:

  • Assist in the control and maintenance of the laboratory facility and equipment.
  • Assist in the control and maintenance of laboratory records in line with requirements.
  • Perform quality control checks in line with the specified schedule.
  • Assist in 5S in the laboratory facility and associated areas.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to work unsupervised and use initiative to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to learn specific, practical techniques and apply knowledge.
  • Ability to use technical equipment accurately.
  • Ability to review data and generate informative reports.
  • Make informed decisions based on data and risk evaluation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain and calibrate technical equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • PC literate, including good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Good numeracy skills.
  • Previous experience in the automotive sector is desirable.
  • Previous experience in a laboratory environment is desirable.
  • Knowledge of plastic injection moulding, slush moulding, paint, and assembly high-volume processes is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of problem-solving techniques is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of statistical techniques is desirable.
