Job Title: Senior FPGA Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior FPGA Design Engineer to join our team at Renishaw's Encoder Products Division (EPD). As a key member of our multi-disciplined team, you will be responsible for driving the development of new precision measurement products, working closely with project managers and product managers to define product specifications and deliver designs that meet those specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver high-quality FPGA designs that meet performance, quality, cost, and timescale targets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize the release of new designs to production, ensuring compliance with the company's new product introduction process.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously, allocating time appropriately to meet deadlines for delivery.
  • Stay up-to-date with current technology and develop innovative processes and design solutions that can be patented by the company.
Requirements:
  • Advanced knowledge of VHDL, with recent experience with Intel (Altera) FPGAs.
  • Demonstrable expertise in electronic design, including high-speed, low-power circuits, and electromagnetic compatibility.
  • Practical understanding of microcontrollers, embedded software, and signal processing techniques.
Desirable Requirements:
  • Knowledge of C, C++, assembly language, or other embedded software languages.
  • Experience with LT SPICE, Matlab, Simulink, VUnit, Python, Aldec ActiveHDL, and Intel (Altera) Quartus.
