Your Role as an FPGA Design Engineer
We are seeking a talented FPGA Design Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team. Your primary focus will be on digital logic design for FPGAs, but a strong understanding of high-speed design principles (both analog and digital) is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of new precision measurement products, collaborating with project managers and product managers to deliver designs that meet specified requirements.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team to optimize the interaction between electronic, mechanical, and software components in all designs. Gain valuable insights into metrology (the science of measurement).
- Ensure designs meet performance, quality, cost, and timescale targets while considering design for assembly and test. Contribute to the seamless transfer of designs to production.
- Adhere to the company's new product introduction process, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize the release of new designs to production.
- Stay abreast of current technology trends and develop innovative processes and design solutions that can be patented by the company.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in electronic engineering, physics, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of VHDL, ideally with recent experience using Intel (Altera) FPGAs.
- Expertise in electronic design, including high-speed, low-power circuits and electromagnetic compatibility. Demonstrate proficiency in both analog and digital domains.
- Proven skills and experience with Altium, CR5000, or other ECAD system tools.
- Understanding of microcontrollers, embedded software, and signal processing techniques.
Desirable Requirements:
- Knowledge of C, C++, assembly language, or other embedded software languages.
- Experience with LT SPICE, Matlab, Simulink, VUnit, Python, Aldec ActiveHDL, and Intel (Altera) Quartus.
- Knowledge and experience of safety and reliability standards including IEC61508.
