About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical and Electrical Technician to join our team at Thames Water. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our water treatment and distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and diagnose complex faults in mechanical and electrical equipment, and carry out repairs to minimize downtime and ensure continuity of service.
  • Perform planned maintenance work on mechanical and electrical equipment to prevent failures and ensure optimal performance.
  • Provide technical advice and support to the wider team, and train or mentor technical trainees as required.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to ensure effective communication and coordination of maintenance activities.
Requirements
  • ONC/HNC BTEC 3/5 in engineering (desirable)
  • NVQ, or C&G level 3 in Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering
  • A valid driving license is essential
  • 18th Edition qualification is desirable (training can be provided if required)
  • Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues are crucial
  • Self-motivated individual with a can-do attitude and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Salary up to £39,480 per annum depending on skills and experience
