Job Title: Interior Electronics Domain Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and integrate interior electronics systems into the overall vehicle electrical architecture, including switch gear, interior lighting, tachometer, and HVAC.
  • Manage electrical FG-owned interior systems and collaborate with the Body and Interior Function Groups for system integration.
  • Integrate interior electronics into the overall vehicle electrical network architecture and vehicle package, including network integration, distributed functions, signal database requirements, and UI system interaction.
  • Ensure control units and peripherals are correctly located and packaged according to installation and wiring requirements.
  • Manage technical deliverables, project plans, and open issues decks for assigned systems.
  • Comply with legislative, certification, environmental, and EMC requirements.
  • Specify and develop software features and functions in conjunction with technical partners and Tier 1 suppliers, ensuring process-driven development compliance.
  • Participate in system review, verification, and validation activities, including FMEAs, DVP planning, ISO26262 functional safety, EMC, and other tests throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Conduct hands-on electrical development and testing in collaboration with testing and validation colleagues, identifying and resolving faults, and managing issues to closure.
  • Manage Tier 1 supplier relationships, coordinating with Procurement, Logistics, and Quality throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide support and training to Manufacturing and Service departments, developing service procedures and diagnostic functionality.
Requirements:
  • Significant experience in interior electrical systems and component delivery within an automotive engineering environment.
  • Demonstrable understanding of electrical architectures and underlying network and diagnostic technologies.
  • Experience in project engineering with Tier 1 suppliers, preparing project documentation and reports, risk management, mitigation, and recovery planning.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle networks and diagnostics.
  • Experience in system/component delivery within an APQP, six sigma, or similar framework (FMEA, DVP, quality planning, PPAP, etc.) and full product lifecycle activities.
  • Articulate, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
  • Possession of an Electronics, Control Systems, Automotive, or similar honours engineering degree. Recognised engineering qualifications combined with relevant significant experience will be considered.
  • Full driving licence is essential.
  • No visa or other restrictions for working in the UK or travelling in the European Union.
