Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance Technician

We are seeking an experienced Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team at Thames Water. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our water treatment works and delivery of clean water to our customers in the Guildford and Southwest Surrey area.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical and mechanical systems, including rewiring lighting systems and refurbishing pumps and valves.
- Respond to reactive work to maintain operational output and supply of clean water to customers.
- Identify and resolve faults, and implement suitable solutions.
- Support internal and external stakeholders with large-scale planned work at our sites.
- Maintain asset availability and ensure site performance is maintained.
- Promote a safe working environment through your actions and behaviors.
- Previous experience in an electrical apprenticeship, with an 18th Edition qualification is essential.
- NVQ or C&G level 3 in mechanical engineering or a related/equivalent mechanical qualification would be desirable.
- Physically fit as you may have to work in confined spaces on successful completion of the appropriate training.
- Qualified and competent to complete work and comply with current standards and regulations.
- Health and safety knowledge.
- Technical knowledge and know-how to identify faults and solutions.
- Ability to see work through to completion is a prerequisite.
- Technical experience from an industrial maintenance background.
- The ability to demonstrate logical thinking, attention to detail, and workload management is a must.
- The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Ability to make decisions about our sites, sometimes under pressure.
- Full UK Valid driving licence.
- Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders, building strong relationships quickly.
- Competent with IT systems.
- Competitive Salary offering up to £39,000 per annum depending on your level of experience.
- 24 days holiday per year increasing to 28 days with the length of service. (Plus bank holidays)
