Specialist in Autism Assessments

We require a highly skilled Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to conduct autism assessments for children and adolescents aged 5-18.

About the Job:

  1. You will conduct comprehensive developmental histories using preferred methods/tools to evaluate children undergoing autism assessments.
  2. As part of the role, you will observe the child/young person during sessions and ensure questions are asked in an age-appropriate and compassionate manner.
  3. You will be responsible for formulating a diagnosis, concluding the assessment, and providing feedback to the family in a kind, age-appropriate, and compassionate manner, including recommendations and signposting to local/national resources.
  4. The ideal candidate will have experience in producing high-quality, detailed diagnostic reports within 48 hours post-assessment, adhering to DSM-5 criteria and report templates. Admin support for formatting and quality control is provided.
  5. In addition, you will request onward referrals as clinically necessary, in line with local NHS Trust/ICB protocols.

Salary & Benefits:

  • This is a self-employed position, paid on a competitive per assessment tariff, outside IR35.
  • We offer flexible working hours, with availability 7 days a week to suit your lifestyle (subject to the Working Time Directive).
