We are seeking a highly skilled Child Development Specialist to join our team of professionals in delivering exceptional care to children and adolescents.

Job Summary:

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced clinician to provide comprehensive autism assessments for children aged 5-18, working closely with families to deliver life-changing results.

About the Role:

  • Conduct thorough developmental histories using evidence-based methods to evaluate children undergoing autism assessments.
  • Orient yourself to the child's needs, ensuring questions are posed in an age-appropriate and empathetic manner.
  • Formulate a diagnosis, conclude the assessment, and share feedback with the family in a kind, respectful, and compassionate manner, including recommendations and signposting to local resources.
  • Deliver high-quality diagnostic reports within 48 hours post-assessment, adhering to DSM-5 criteria and report templates (administrative support for formatting and quality control is provided).
  • Maintain accurate records of referrals as clinically necessary, in line with local NHS Trust/ICB protocols.

  • Free opportunities for professional development and training in neurodevelopmental assessments, such as ADHD.
  • CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry preferred but not essential.
  • Confidence and expertise in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and/or ADHD assessments for children and young people.
  • Passionate about delivering clinical excellence for every child and young person.

Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
