Emergency Planning and Business Continuity Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Planning and Business Continuity Specialist to join our team at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust. As an integral part of our Emergency Planning Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the Trust's Business Continuity and Emergency Preparedness, Resilience, and Response (EPRR) activities are executed effectively.
Main Responsibilities
- Support the Head of EPRR in carrying out the Trust's Business Continuity and EPRR activities, providing specialist advice, training, and exercising.
- Review and update Business Continuity and EPRR plans, procedures, and On-Call documents, taking the lead on monthly checks of related resources and documents.
- In the absence of the Head of EPRR, deputise and provide advice, guidance, information, and support to the Trust at all levels, attending EPRR-related meetings and events.

Person Specification
Knowledge, Skills, and Training
- A good level of understanding of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, including the requirements for Category 1 & 2 responders.
- Sound understanding of the NHS England Core Standards for EPRR.
- Willing to undertake further training or gain knowledge within the field of EPRR & Business Continuity and keep up to date with emerging risks.
Previous or Relevant Experience
- Previous experience of providing administrative support, including taking and producing meeting minutes, reviewing and updating documents, and other administrative tasks.
- Experience of working with minimal supervision, using own initiative to prioritise workload effectively, ensuring delivery of most urgent and valuable outcomes.
IT Skills, Knowledge of IT Applications
- A good level of IT skills, knowledge of IT applications, including experience of using the range of Microsoft Office Packages.
Personal Qualities
- Able to work accurately and efficiently under pressure and sometimes in a fast-changing environment.
- Effective interpersonal skills, including listening and communication skills to successfully engage with staff at all levels across the Trust.
