Casual Youth Worker

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Casual Youth Worker to join our expanding Everton in the Community Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to young people aged 16-23 within our Home is Where the Heart (HIWTHI) programme. This is a residential programme that provides placements for young people who are moving on from the care system and need additional support, or for young people who have found themselves homeless and in need of support.
The role will involve supporting the HIWTHI Manager and working with in-house residents to ensure their needs are met and they are equipped with the skills necessary for independent living. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in promoting self-confidence, esteem, and empowerment among young people, while also challenging negative social stereotypes.

Key Responsibilities
- SUPPORT THE HIWTHI MANAGER ON AN AD-HOC BASIS TO ENSURE THAT YOUNG PEOPLE ARE RECRUITED, DEVELOPED, ENGAGED AND MONITORED IN LINE WITH EVERTON IN THE COMMUNITY GUIDELINES.
- SUPPORT WITH IN-HOUSE RESIDENTS AGED 16-23 WITHIN THE HIWTHI REMIT ON AN AD-HOC BASIS.
Requirements
- A VRQ/NVQ Level 2 in Youth Work or other relevant qualification/experience in youth or community work.
- Able to handle challenging behaviour.
- Flexible approach to working unsociable hours (evenings and weekends) as required.
Working Arrangements
This role will be offered on a casual basis, working flexibly as and when required to suit the needs of the programme. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. As a requirement of our safer recruitment practices, this role will require an Enhanced DBS check or evidence that you are subscribed to the DBS Update Service information.
